中岛最近的作品日趋抽象。
然而他似乎不在意大多数观众难以理解他的作品。
平面印刷作品的设计目的是要大量制作，
中岛却将特殊的手工元素加到作品以增添一种不完美性，
用意是向这种常规认识发起挑战。
Nakajima’s recent works show an increasing degree of abstration.
He seems unconcerned ,however ,
that a mass audience can not easily understand his work.
Nakajima’s incorporation of unique handcrafted elements to add imperfection to his
works defies the assumption that graphic print work is designed to be produced in
multiple examples.

在本次研讨中，
他们在现场转为设计评论者，
来讨论设计的作用、角色以及未来架构：
今天的平面设计以何种方式进行反思、研究、批评与实践。
演讲/研讨议题：“共享COMMUM — ”
作为平面设计的本质，
Communication（交流）的词根COMMUN — （共享）来源于信息的承载、共享与分享，
这种人类一直以来的美好愿景，在当下数字时代益发明显。
本次研讨将分享这些设计师对交流设计的观察、探索、分析与提问。
纵然众多议题无法在本次讨论中深入，
但这次研讨无疑将成为中国当代设计群体自觉的一个象征事件。
“共享COMMUM－”将由若干相互支撑的分议题构成：
1. 改变中的角色（The Changing Role）
2. 设计作为研究（Design as Research）
3. 媒介即设计（Media is Design）
4. 作为设计方法的中国文字设计（Chinese Typography as Method）

艺术指导、平面设计师
中岛英树在清水正己设计公司及Rockin’ On工作后，
于1995设立中岛英树设计公司。
1999年，出版作品集《再生》。
自1999年开始，与坂本龙一，Shigeo Goto及Norika Sora一起成立“代码”组合。
所获奖项包括：
艺术指导俱乐部5项金奖与7项银奖 (1995-2000)，
1999年东京艺术指导俱乐部奖，
2000年第19届布尔诺国际平面设计双年展书籍类优秀设计奖，
2001年芝加哥雅典娜优秀设计奖。
主要展览包括：
1994年“东京视觉 Groove / PARCO”组合展，
1998年“日本平面设计展 / 巴黎”、“SEIKO’s NEATNIK”艺术展，
2000年GGG艺廊“平面设计浪潮5”，
2001年“竹尾纸展2001”、“平面 / 巴黎”、
“TypoJanchi / 汉城”、“032c’s 追求与你相伴 伦敦 / 柏林”展。
国际平面设计联盟会员（AGI）会员，
东京艺术指导俱乐部会员。

After working at Masami Shimizu Design Office and Rockin' on, established Nakajima Design in 1995.
In 1999, published works anthology "Revival."
Since 1999, participates in a unit called "code" with Ryuichi Sakamoto, Shigeo Goto and Norika Sora.
Prizes to date include:
The Art Directors Club Awards (5 Gold,7 Silver,1995-2000),
Tokyo ADC Award in 1999,
and the Best Design in the Category of Books at the 19th International Biennale of Graphic Design Brno in 2000,
the Chicago Athenaeum's Good Design Award in 2001.
Major group exhibitions include
"Tokyo Visual Groove / PARCO" in 1994,
"Japan Graphic Design Exhibition / Paris," Art Exhibition for "SEIKO's NEATNIK" in 1998,
"Graphic Wave 5" at ggg (Ginza Graphic Gallery) in 2000,
